COMMONLY ASKED QUESTIONS

WHAT IS VBS?
VBS stands for Vacation Bible School. It is a fun-packed week that keeps your child active and moving. By going to different stations throughout each of the 5 days, they will experience crafts, games, lessons, and a snack. The boys and girls compete all week to see who will win. The losing pastor representative will receive a PIE IN THE FACE on Friday after VBS.
WHO CAN ATTEND?
Bethel's VBS is for Preschool through 5th grade. It is by the grade your child is going into starting in the fall. For example, if they just completed 4th grade and are getting ready to begin 5th, they are invited.
WHAT TIME SHOULD I BRING MY CHILD?
Come early on Monday. Doors open at 8:30 a.m. for walk-in registrations. Since it’s the first day, it takes a little longer to get everyone checked in. Tuesday through Friday the doors open at 9 a.m.
Our opening sessions start at 9:30 a.m., so make sure you arrive in time for them to get checked in for our opening. Your kids won’t want to miss it!
WHAT SHOULD THEY WEAR?
If you pre-register your child before July 17th, they will recieve a free VBS t-shirt sponsored by Lifewise Academy. Casual attire is best (shorts, t-shirts) with close-toed shoes (no flip flops please; tennis shoes preferred). Your child will have game time outside every day, and they will need to be comfortably dressed. Sometimes crafts can get a little messy, so wear something that you don’t mind getting dirty. Since they will be outside, please put sunscreen on your child before dropping them off.
IS A SNACK PROVIDED? HOW WILL MY CHILD'S FOOD ALLERGIES BE HANDLED?
We do provide a daily snack. Make sure you indicate any food allergies on your child’s registration form. If what we provide doesn’t work for your child, you are welcome to provide your own snack. Please give it to your child’s group leader at drop-off and make sure it is labeled with your child’s name.
